Shahid Ayub

Shahid is a multidisciplinary artist whose journey began at the London School of Printing, where he earned a diploma in Photolithography. However, driven by a deeper artistic calling, he left printing behind to explore painting, design, and jewellery making. Self-taught in fine art, he later honed his jewellery craft at the renowned Cass School of Jewellery under the Metropolitan University of London. His passion for visual expression also led him to study urban photography at Camberwell School of Art.

As a resident artist at Hays Galleria, London, Shahid exhibited his paintings, jewellery, and photography. He now showcases his work at Bermondsey Gallery, with many pieces held in private collections. He believes that art must be experienced in person to reveal its full expression.

His artistic journey is deeply rooted in Abstract Expressionism, where he embraces perpetual experimentation and improvisation. Inspired by Kazimir Malevich and Jackson Pollock, his process involves layered compositions and a dynamic interplay of colors—often painted in a trance-like state.

At its core, Shahid’s work is a celebration of life’s relentless force. Like nature pushing through the earth toward light, his art embodies both destruction and renewal, capturing the essence of movement and transformation through fluid lines and color. For him, art is not just an expression but a manifestation of life’s eternal rhythm.
